Towards a closer partnership with Chile

Two members of the France Energies Marines team visited Chile from 17 to 20 December

The objective? To meet several key players in research on extreme events and biofouling at sea. Organized by the Marine Energy Research and Innovation Centre (MERIC), this week was an opportunity for high-level exchanges with scientists from the Estación Costera de Investigaciones Marinas (ECIM), the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (USM) and the Institut français du Chili. It was also punctuated by several laboratory visits.
At the end of these fruitful discussions, several avenues for collaboration have already been identified. This will take shape next May with Felipe Lucero being hosted for 4 months at the headquarters of France Energies Marines. As an engineer in the MERIC team, he will work on the spectral modelling of sea states during storms.
