The Institut national de R&D dans les énergies marines, winner of €2.1 million in co-financing for its projects through Les Investissements d'Avenir.

Brest, 13 October 2017

Very encouraging news for France Energies Marines, which is once again increasing its portfolio of research and development projects dedicated to marine renewable energies, bringing the amount operated to more than €21.8 million. As part of the Investments for the Future, the €2.1 million of this third co-financing by the National Research Agency (ANR) brings together 30 public and private partners in the sector, including two international institutes, around 5 new collaborative projects and a coordination project. These projects are part of the support provided to stakeholders in the sector to reduce development and investment costs in line with the State's desire to simplify procedures and accelerate the deployment of MRE along French coastlines. The selected topics will allow the deployment of recognized and validated methodologies for the characterization of production sites, the design of major components of floating wind turbines, the evaluation of the socio-ecosystemic impacts of wind farms and the integration of several machines into the farm network. The establishment of an Expert Committee to make recommendations on all the environmental and socio-economic issues related to the installation of parks under the supervision of France Energies Marines will also provide answers to all stakeholders.
