Science & Techology Upgrades 2018

It will be held on 26 November 2018 near Brest, on the eve of the Conference on the Sea Economy. Last days to register!

France Energies Marines is organizing the second edition of its annual Scientific and Technical Conference on 26 November 2018 near Brest in France. This event will focus on the latest progress in R&D in the field of offshore renewable marine energies.

The day will begin with a keynote by Pr Torgeir MOAN, an expert in the field of floating wind turbines from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

Four round tables, illustrated by the results of the collaborative R&D projects coordinated by France Energies Marines, will then follow during the day on the following themes:

  • Storms, cyclones, rogue waves: extreme events impacting offshore renewable energy devices
  • Bottom-to-surface connections: the challenge of floating wind turbines
  • Food webs and the socio-ecosystem approach: towards a better understanding of the effects of offshore renewable energies on the environment
  • French offshore test sites: unique infrastructure to support the development of the sector
