Optimal Design Tools for Ocean Energy Arrays

Duration: 3 years

Project description

DTOcean supplied design tools for deployment of the demonstration arrays of wave and tidal energy converters. The project provided general information and knowledge for the developers of array projects. To achieve that, various areas of the offshore energy sector needed to be researched including arrangement of the array, electrical system, mooring and foundations, installation, operation and maintenance, monitoring, design tools, knowledge management, dissemination and exploitation. All the project parties were actively communicating to deliver an integrated approach to ocean energy array design and development.


  • Accelerating the industrial development of ocean energy power generation knowledge.
  • Providing design tools for deploying the first generation of wave and tidal energy converter arrays.
