Environmental and socio-economic impacts

This program pursues two objectives: identify the real ecological and socio-economic challenges posed by the installation, operation, maintenance and dismantling phases of MRE projects; develop tools and methodologies to measure, qualify, analyze and predict the environmental and socio-economic impacts of identified MRE technologies.

The main issues concern non-technological aspects and societal issues. The tools and methods developed will also make it possible to reduce the time taken to investigate cases and to provide answers during debates and consultations. On the one hand, this program concerns the proposing of acceptable solutions to preserve the environment in the best possible way, while on the other hand not harming the economic activities present in the sectors concerned by the implantation of future MRE parks. This program will also make it possible to anticipate the measures to be implemented as soon as the identification phases of suitable areas are completed.
