Wave modelling

Hosting a Chilean MERIC researcher

Felipe Lucero, who is a researcher at the Marine Energy Research and Innovation Center (MERIC) and based at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, is hosted for 4 months at France Energies Marines. The objective: to improve wave modelling of Chilean coasts using the open source software WAVEWATCH III. As the amount of sea state data available for the study area is relatively limited, Felipe will also use satellite data. The results of its work carried out from November 2019 to February 2020 will be tested a few months later on data acquired in real time, thanks to the deployment of measurement instrumentation (radar, ADCP) on the Chilean coast.
